2003 TREKS - WESTERN AUSTRALIA

2003 trekking experiences In conjunction with the Walmajarri and Kukatja people, traditional owners of Lake Gregory (Paraku), we will be operating two 14-day treks around this freshwater lake nestled between the Tanami and Great Sandy Deserts' in Western Australia. Lake Gregory has been flooded for over two years and these two treks will showcase the lake plus venture out into the surrounding dunes and rocky outcrops. The birdlife at Lake Gregory is astounding and the first trek has been delegated as an ornithological trek which means in effect that it will travel at a slower pace thereby giving even more time for absorbing all that this impressive area has to offer. The traditional owners will be joining each trek, providing an insight into the spirit and culture of their land and showing us the skills of identifying and collecting bush tucker. See 1 on map.
